The fourth annual Medina County Pet-Tacular! will be held Saturday, May 4, 10 am to 2 pm, at Pinnacle Sports, at 313 Medina Rd., Medina (Granger Township). One of the largest pet events in the county, the happening is an extravaganza of all things pet related.

The event will not only feature pet adoption, but also lots of fun activities for owners and pets including areas such as Pet School with dog obedience classes and Meet the Breed, Clinic City with discounted dog vaccinations and micro-chipping, Kids and Pets Zone with face painting and 4-H awareness, Pet Spa with pawdicures and pet painting and lots of space for rescue groups and pet-related businesses. The public is invited, and there is no admission fee.

NEW this year is a “Pets Have Talent” contest where anyone can sign up to compete with their pet to perform a trick or two for a panel of judges for prizes.

The event previously operated for 18 years as the Medina County Adopt-A-Thon, sponsored by Medina County Auditor Mike Kovack.  Three years ago the name was changed to better reflect all the activities and vendors participating in the event.  “We are delighted to be partnering with Ohio State University Extension, Medina County, the 4-H Youth Development Program, the Medina Kennel Club and Medina Veterinary Clinic to bring the community an extravaganza of all things pet-related,” said Kovack.

The event also features a pet blessing and a coloring contest for elementary students and adults. It’s a great place to discover just how many resources are available to owners and pets.

Exhibitors and sponsors are still being accepted for the event.  Non-profit groups who would like to be exhibitors pay a fee of $10 per table, and for-profit businesses pay $15 per table. Sponsor levels are Nifty Kitty ($100), Cool Cat ($250), Heavenly Hound ($500) and Precious Pooch ($1000).
