Joseph D. Hemeyer, 75, of Medina, passed away January 26, 2023.
He was born in Cleveland on April 28, 1947 to the late Christopher and Margaret (Blahay) Hemeyer.
Survivors include his children, Christopher (Carrie) Hemeyer and Matthew (Stephanie) Hemeyer; grandchildren, Madlynn (John), Emma, Alyssa, Benjamin, and Hannah; and great-grandson, Aiden.
Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings, Edward Hemeyer and Joyce Finohr.
Joseph was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers fan and loved visiting the Lake Erie islands. He greatly enjoyed his job working in the produce department at Giant Eagle in Medina.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 6750 State Rd., Parma. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation or to the ASPCA.
