COLUMBUS—Ohio Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina) today announced the Ohio Ballot Board unanimously approved the language for the redistricting reform proposal that will go before Ohio voters as Issue 1 on May 8.

The proposal creates a fair, bipartisan and transparent process for drawing congressional districts in Ohio. Obhof co-sponsored the legislation creating Issue 1, and it received overwhelming bipartisan support in both the Ohio Senate and House earlier this month.

"Issue 1 presents Ohio voters with a responsible redistricting plan that ensures bipartisan support and keeps our communities together," said Obhof. Obhof helped lead the legislature's effort to reach a solution that both political parties and citizen-led reform groups heralded as a historic step forward for Ohio.
