The Kiwanis Club of Medina recently celebrated their annual Golden Wedding Anniversary Luncheon which pays tribute to Medina County couples who have celebrated 50 years of marriage. Four couples were honored at the event hosted by Williams on the Lake.

  • Member Mike Short introduced Diane and Kenneth Smith. They met while both attended Bowling Green University and are almost ready to celebrate their 51st anniversary.
  • Member Nancy Abbott introduced Beulah (Boo) and Don Lott who celebrated their 50th anniversary, who married on Oct 12, 1969. Their daughter, Alyssa L. Williams, was a proud daughter in their picture. Can you imagine them traveling to their wedding in an MGB Roaster?
  • Jeri and Alan Penn were introduced by Member Bill Young. Alan and Jeri are super active in the community and are also long time Kiwanians.
  • Sue and Dave Taylor were introduced by Member Bob Fenn. Dave and Sue met while they were both stationed at Fort Dix. They have continued their service to the community by being involved in their church and veterans' groups.

Mayor Dennis Hanwell congratulated each couple individually and said they were great examples for the rest of us. Joan Rundle was our hostess with the mostest.

Each of our golden anniversary couples received a lifetime pass to the Medina County Fair!

Kiwanis is celebrating 101 years of service in Medina, and commemorates couples serving each other in marriage with 50 years of living and loving.
