The Akron Youth Orchestras will present a Winter Concert on January 19 at 3 p.m. at Tallmadge High School.

The concert will open with the Akron Youth Philharmonic, under the baton of Music Director Douglas Bayda, performing John Lloyd’s A Hectic Overture, Maurice Whitney’s Variations on a Theme by Handel, Robert Sheldon’s Appalachian Morning, and Jupiter from Holst’s The Planets.

The Akron Youth Symphony, under the baton of Music Director Eric Benjamin, will follow with Mozart’s Overture to La Clemenza d’Tito, Ravel’s Ma’Mere L’Oye Ballet, and Strauss’ Kaiser-Walzer (Emperor Waltzes).

Tickets, which are required for the performance, are $10; children age 10 or younger are free. Tickets may be purchased at akronsymphony.org, by calling the Symphony Box Office at 330.535.8131, or at the door starting one hour prior to the performance.

Tallmadge High School is located at 140 North Munroe Road in Tallmadge.
