It’s that time of year for New Year’s resolutions and the most popular resolution is to lose weight. Medina Community Recreation Center and Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital are pooling their resources and expertise to help you with this resolution.

Each Tuesday evening for 8 weeks from January 8 through February 26 the Healthy Medina Meltdown group meets from 6 to 7:30 pm to learn strategies for achieving weight loss including topics like using tools to make your changes stick, the warning signs of pre-diabetes, know your numbers and what they mean, keep your exercise program going, heart health, healthy eating in real life. Work out at the Rec before or after the sessions or participate in a group exercise class immediately following the health talk or on Friday mornings at 10. The program includes weekly raffles, weigh-ins and check-ins with a health coach to keep you moving, motivated and on track. The first 100 registrants receive a FREE Healthy Medina T-shirt. Mandatory weigh in and health screenings (cholesterol, glucose, BP and BMI) are conducted the first night and the last night to track your progress. An app is offered to also keep you in the game.
